Volunteers

We need your help!

We have to raise our own funds to keep Time 4 Children running, and need as much help as possible doing this! Fundraising can be a fun, fulfilling activity for anyone from any background, and there are lots of ways in which you could help us.

If you would like to organise an event to support us, you are thinking about taking part in a sponsored event, or you would like to raise money some other way, then we would love to hear from you!

Volunteer as a Volunteer Practitioner

At Time 4 Children, we rely on a dedicated team of volunteers to deliver our service to the children who need it. Our Volunteer Practitioners come from all walks of life and all share our passion for wanting to help children - without our Volunteer Practitioners we could not achieve all that we do.
We pride ourselves on providing an exceptionally high standard of training to those who wish to become volunteers for Time 4 Children. Our training is delivered one day a week for twelve weeks, amounting to sixty hours. Trainees who successfully complete the twelve days can then begin a supervised placement, initially supporting one child. After this, we hope our volunteers will stay with us for at least one year. Our training does not allow volunteers to practise on their own outside of Time 4 Children.
Can you give 2 to 4 hours a week as a volunteer and commit to supporting a child/children for one year after initial training?

-You must be trustworthy; reliable; enjoy the company of children and have a good sense of humour.
-You will be non-judgemental and respectful towards children from all walks of life and backgrounds.

-You will be respectful of confidentiality.
-You will need to provide references and be interviewed. Time 4 Children will carry out a DBS Check.

Time 4 Children is looking for volunteers who can travel to East Grinstead, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill and surrounding villages, and Crawley. Therefore, a car or access to a car is essential.
Support is provided to children in their place of school, during school hours. After training you will be in a position to support a child (or children) at the same time every week.

You will be expected to attend one of two group supervisions every 4 to 6 weeks. One group supervision is held on a Monday Lunchtime in Burgess Hill and the other is held on a Wednesday evening in Haywards Heath.

We require and will carry out a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
